I’m delighted to announce that we have teamed up with the Eisner Foundation to promote the Eisner Prize for Intergenerational Excellence. Leaving the world better for future generations is one of the driving forces behind the encore movement, so the Eisner Prize couldn’t be a better match for us as it celebrates intergenerational solutions to society’s most pressing problems.

The Eisner Foundation is accepting nominations for the prize until April 30th and we want to make sure that all worthy contenders make it into the application pool. So I’m urging you to take some time to think about any individuals or nonprofit organizations working to unite multiple generations, especially seniors and youth, to bring about positive and lasting changes in their community. For the first time this year the Eisner Foundation is awarding two Eisner Prizes one for Innovations in Intergenerational Solutions, the other for Lifetime Achievement in Intergenerational Advocacy. Both prizes will be cash awards for $100,000.

The nomination process is taking place entirely on Twitter and full information is available at http://bit.ly/1q01ypN. We’ll be tweeting up a storm at @encorecareers, so feel to just retweet us, or nominate a person or organization by messaging @EisnerFound on Twitter, using #EisnerPrize in your message.

Thank you for taking the time to think about potential nominees, and for spreading the word about this important prize.
