Brain Fitness

I am eager to connect with anyone who is involved in brain fitness, especially for seniors.  My new career direction is very exciting working for a company on the leading edge of technology to enhance cognitive ability for seniors.

But, beyond this I am concerned that the message about the plasticity of the brain has yet to be broadly circulated.  With the reality’s being that about 50% of people 85 or older are likely to have Alzheimer’s and the fact that people are living much longer nowadays, there will be a serious crisis of care facing the world if we don’t either find a cure for Alzheimer’s or start helping people understand the role brain fitness can play in their maintaining (or even improving) their mental abilities just by doing 5 relatively easy and inexpensive things…eating a heart-healthy and brain-healthy diet, stopping smoking, reducing stress, staying physically active and undertaking exercising the brain.

So, let me know what you are involved with…research, care-giving, assisted living/dementia care, retirement community activities, facilities/community design, Beacon Hill project(s) and/or anything else related to the brain and keeping it healthy.
