Throughout the country, colleges are creating programs that help boomers transition into encore careers. But they are just a sample of the programs out there that are helping people to move into careers that make a difference.
All of the colleges described below are a part of the Encore College Initiative. Over a four-year span, 40 community colleges involved in this initiative created pathways to encore careers in education, health care, social services and the environment.
