Five inspiring people will win the 2012 Purpose Prize® – and $100,000 each – for improving their communities and the world. We’re looking for people in the second half of life who've transitioned from previous jobs to encore careers with passion, purpose and, in many cases, a paycheck.   

If you have not already done so, please read the eligibility and selection criteria for The Purpose Prize.

Re-Nominate
someone you nominated in a prior year by using the 'Getting Started' form below. Information from your previous nomination will be pre-filled for you. You will also be asked to cover in shorter responses: The inspiring story of the nominee's work. The circumstance and exactly when the candidate's important work began. The impact the candidate's work is currently having.

Whether you are applying for The Purpose Prize yourself or nominating someone, you will need to know the following:

4 tips for nominating someone for The Purpose Prize
  1. Learn about past Prize winners to see what we look for (click here for a list of winners).
  2. Nominate someone (possibly you) who switched careers, is tackling a social problem, and has plans to expand.
  3. Tell a story: What was the "Aha!" moment that propelled your nominee in a new direction?
  4. Describe the nominee's impact. What has your nominee accomplished that others should know about?

Nominees will be informed in May 2012 if they have been selected as semifinalists for The Purpose Prize. At that point, they will have the opportunity to provide longer responses, additional information, and references.  Winners will be announced in the fall.

All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET, March 22, 2012.
