What would you ask the panel? October 5 Nonprofit HR Conference in DC

What would you ask a panel of nonprofit employers about the encore career workforce? You have that chance at the 2009 Nonprofit Human Resources Conference held October 4-6 in Washington, DC by Nonprofit HR Solutions.

Civic Ventures will lead two sessions at the conference:

  • The first, a plenary titled Leveraging the Encore Talent Pool as an Asset for Nonprofits, will be presented by Phyllis Segal, Vice President for Civic Ventures, and will interactively examine how the encore career is emerging as a new stage of work in the second half of life - and what it means for the nonprofit sector.
  • The second, a session titled The Encore Talent Pool: A Workforce for Your Nonprofit to Tap, will be facilitated by Diane Piktialis, consultant to Civic Ventures, and will feature two distinguished nonprofit executives to examine the myths and realities about encore workers and the HR challenges (and opportunities) of tapping into encore talent. The panelists are Mary Bleiberg, Executive Director of ReServe Elder Services, Inc. and Michael Watson, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, of the Girl Scouts of the USA.

What questions do you have regarding tapping into encore talent? Whether or not you are able to attend the conference, we'd like to know. It will not only help us to create better sessions for attendees, but also enable us to provide better content to you through Encore.org. Please reply with questions you'd pose to experts on the encore talent pool!
