Education Equality Day: A call to action in the nation's capital

A couple of my previous posts have highlighted recent reports about the high cost -- both human and economic -- of the education achievement gap. The NYC-based Education Equality Project is teaming up with the United Negro College Fund, the National Council of La Raza, the National Action Network, and others for a national call to action to CLOSE THE GAP on the 55th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision. The event is on Saturday, May 16th, 10 am at the White House Ellipse.

To learn more about the education achievement gap in your state, to get involved with a multi-generational movement to close the gap, or to tell your own story about how Encore talent can help our nation realize the promise of the the Brown decision, visit www.edequality.org.

Of course, we're always eager to hear your stories and ideas on this discussion group, too! --Michelle
