Want to teach science? Try it out as ReSET volunteer. (Washington DC area)

Retired Scientists, Engineers and Technicians (ReSET)

ReSET is a nonprofit organization that places volunteers in D.C.-area elementary school classrooms to lead the students in hands-on science experiments. Its objective is to show students that science learning is enjoyable and exciting, and to reduce the number of students who lose interest in science before entering high school. Retired and working volunteers present programs in their field of interest and work with teachers to reinforce science and math learning. No education training or certification is required; ReSET has a program to prepare volunteers for the classroom. Expenses are covered.
