This is an opportunity to share your successes and challenges and learn from colleagues who are also pioneering new ways for adults 50+ to transition to their encore careers — work that matters in the second half of life.

Encore Leadership Network

The Encore Leadership Network includes leaders from the nonprofit, corporate and public sectors, including academic institutions and think tanks and the philanthropic sector, who believe strongly in a triple win that can come from establishing Encore Careers as a new stage of work that matters in the second half of life. The Encore Leadership Network will help to support, refine and advance the ideas and practice of the Encore Career.

Join in the discussions with all Purpose Prize Winners and Fellows and other social innovators. This is a special group for use by social innovators, and Purpose Prize winners or fellows since 2006.

The Life Planning Network (LPN) is a community of professionals from diverse fields who share a commitment to providing a broad spectrum of Life Planning services and resources for the Third Age. The Third Age is a life stage created by extended life expectancy into the eighties and beyond – a time that offers new possibilities for living in fulfillment and on purpose, including Encore careers.

PCC plans to develop student support staff and services to welcome encore students, define clear career pathways in a variety of fields, build bridges with employers and community organizations, and expand workforce development funding to direct encore workers toward the state’s high-need areas. This is a place to exchange ideas and engage in discussions about how to establish PCC as a premier “encore college.”

The first-ever Encore Careers Summit brought together hundreds of people in their encore careers, including winners of the Purpose Prize for social entrepreneurs over 60, with representatives of government, business, nonprofit organizations, national service, and academia for two days of talk, learning, networking and planning. Together, we launched a movement that could represent the most significant transformation of the workplace since the women’s movement.

Encores For State Health Care

While everyone who can make a positive contribution to this group is invited to join, retired individuals with Medical or Public Health or Public Policy experience should (feel compelled to) join en masse and provide valuable leadership and guidance! We contemplate collaborating together to either devise a plan for the effective provision of health care services in the US, or come up with a set of recommendations to be implemented in such a plan.

Activities, at least initially, will be conducted through internet interaction.
