Our mission is to help those in the Dallas Metroplex find their “encore” career.
What is an “Encore” career?
1. An “encore” career is not a retirement job; it is a destination and a category of work onto itself.
2. “Encore” careers blend clear-eyed pragmatism and the determination to make a better world, the idealism of a generation tempered by years of experience at making things work.
3. It’s time to stop overlooking the biggest source of people ready to ask what they can do for their country.
4. Provide a broad cross-section of talented individuals in their desire to serve their communities by creating flexible, practical “encore” opportunities.
Why an “Encore” career?
1. There is a broad cross-section of talented individuals who desire to serve their communities by creating flexible, practical “encore” opportunities.
2. 10, 000 people turn 60 every day.
3. By 2030 25% of US residents will be over 60.
4. According to AARP, more than half of those who want to work after retirement, “helping people” was an important factor. Teaching was the top ranked choice.
5. In 2017 Social Security will be in the red.
6. In 2041 the Social Security trust fund will be gone.
How do you find an “Encore” career?
1. Imagine this new concept: If you sign up for a significant new stage of work,
and if you invest in and prepare for this phase, society will meet you halfway.
i. We’ll help clear away the barriers and obstacles that make continued work difficult and complicated.
ii. We’ll develop better pathways to a significant second career.
iii. We’ll help you find engagement that truly uses your skills, experience and know-how.
iv. We’ll focus on opportunities where your assets are genuinely needed.
2. We will find out what your interests and experiences are and try to match these with an “encore” opportunity. In that way you will be doing what you want to do and not necessarily what you have to do.
3. We will work with various agencies and businesses who are interested in hiring people with the experience and desire required.
