From Aging to Saging

Hi everyone, has anyone read this incredible book by Zalman Schachter-Shalomi? It's all about a profound new vision of growing older. We don't give up anything from earlier life, but we do have new tasks and a new role to play in our families and in the world. These new tasks and new role require us to build our contemplative skills to access and release deep wisdom. There's no book, that I've yet come across, that expresses this so well. Here's a couple of snippets from the chapter: The Art of Life Completion.

A fantastic conspiracy of silence surrounds the issue of our mortality...we repress the sacred, transcendent nature of death that was experienced by our ancestors. We hope that genetic engineering, anti-aging chemicals, and bionic research will eliminate death from our midst....and that we will expose aging and death as genetic errors, cosmic mistakes rectified by our humanity.

As we de-repress the fear of death, we reclaim the energy that has gone into denial. We feel buoyed up as streams of creative energy course through our bodies, minds, and nervous systems....we feel lighter, freer, more perceptually and cognitively alive in all our encounters.

How about that? Your thoughts?
