The application process for the 2011 Silicon Valley Encore Fellows program is currently open. The following is the timeline for the 2011 program:

January 2011

• Prospective nonprofit work hosts invited by Civic Ventures to submit applications.

January - February 2011

• Nonprofit work hosts submit applications and specific Encore Fellow position proposals.
• Fellow candidates submit applications.

March – April 2011

• Civic Ventures reviews applications from prospective nonprofit work hosts and fellows.
• Civic Ventures interviews fellow candidates to begin the matching process.
• Prospective fellows interview with work hosts and participate in shadowing and other activities to determine the “fit” with the organization and position requirements.

May 2011

• Mutual matches finalized by May 6th.
• Nonprofit work hosts orient fellows and complete Statement of Work.
• Encore Fellows begin work at nonprofits.

May 2011 - April 2012

• Encore Fellows work at nonprofits for up to one year, ranging from 6 months
  fulltime to 12 months half-time.
• Encore Fellows meet regularly as a learning group.
• Work hosts submit regular reports on progress.
