W.Va. Mining Activist Wins $50,000 Purpose Prize

A mountaintop removal mining activist from West Virginia has won a $50,000 prize for his work protecting communities affected by the coal industry. Bo Webb is one of 10 winners of The Purpose Prize, awarded by Civic Ventures. Webb was honored for his work with Coal River Mountain Watch, which fought to move an elementary school that sits below a massive coal slurry dam.
