Looking for impactful story on solving the poverty problem for a short film -- prize money involved!

Posted 08/08/2008 - 11:43am

We are looking for a story of an entrepreneur who has overcome internal and/or external obstacles and the impact they’ve had on the world / community / other people’s lives and how they’ve still managed / are managing to achieve their goals.

This is for a 2-5 documentary that encourages and promotes solutions to poverty.

There are 3 prizes that are awarded: $20,000 first prize ($10,000 to the entrepreneur(s), $10,000 to the filmmakers), $10,000 second prize ($5,000 to the entrepreneur(s), $5,000 to the filmmakers), and $5,000 third prize ($2,500 to the entrepreneur(s), $2,500 to the filmmakers).

We love human interest stories and we want to inspire and change the world through film. Please contact us immediately if you can help us make a difference. We need to solidify our story by 8/15.

If you want to write your story out and send, great. If you want to send a brief overview, great. We will not share your story with anyone until we have made our choice (and have your approval). The chosen story will have an opportunity to partake in the "script" and see a rough edit. We reserve the right to final decisions, but we want your input, it is your story and we want to help tell it.

Please note also that the competition calls for you to be engaged in for-profit, sustainable, and ethical business practices. They specify enterprise-based solutions.

Thank you for your time.
