Seeking Rotarians Who Want to Serve

Posted 08/18/2008 - 10:25pm

I wish to touch base with members of Rotary clubs as well as non-Rotarians who believe in its motto, “Service Above Self.”

My purpose is to exchange ideas with them about how we can join hands to render service to needy persons.

By the way, I am a past president of a Rotary club and a Paul Harris Fellow.

Send me a short note.

Hi, Angela

I welcome non-Rotarians, too. Send info about what you are doing – the business and the non-business part. I might be able to contribute some ideas.

Gerry

Service Above Self

I am also a Rotarian.  Currently I serve as the Intenational Service Director for the Rotary Club of Ojai, CA.  I previously was a member of the Rotary Club of Gaborone, Botswana and Bakersfield (CA) West Rotary Club.  My international committee is very active with projects in Niger, Mexico, and India.  We have also supplied medical supplies to Honduras, Tibet, Mali and Uganda in the last year.  Locally, we are leading programs to reduce childhood obesity and increase educational opportunities.

I would be interested in hearing about your Rotary experiences and involvement.  Possibly your club would be interested in joining us by supporting our matching grant application to supply a health clinic for the nomads in Niger.  Look forward to hearing from you.

I extend my friendship to you. I served as president of a Rotary Club in Quezon City, Philippines in 1992-93.

I am no longer active in the club but still involved in service
activiities, like helping clubs to link up with foreign clubs and
undertaking joint projects.

If you wish to explore what can be done in the Philippines with a Rotary club or NGO, let me know.

Zimbabwe

I spent three years in Botswana in the mid-nineties and was a member of the Rotary Club of Gaborone.  I traveled to Zimbabwe on several occasions as well as the other countries in the region.  My wife and I have many fond memories of ourtrips and saharis there.  I would be interested to learn about the volunteer work you are doing there and in Zambia.  Is this through Rotary or a NGO?
