Education for my FUTURE
While doing research for a MAED/AET project, I discovered this very pertinent and relevant site. The research is for a slide presentation on Adult Education Careers. The job search is not relevant to this moment but the information will be very useful when I need it. I discovered Marc Freedman’s book, Encore, doing this research and realized I finally found a site where the participants are probably more in tune to my needs and wants than the students in my class. As wonderful as they are, I am way past the kinds of issues they have. As far as I can tell they do not know I am somwhere between 20 and 50 years older than they. Some of them still refer to ‘elderly’ adult students as though they all have physical and mental issues. I love being in this program though, and sharing ideas with ‘these kids’ is enlightening. Based on the stats someone else out there must be doing what I am doing: reinventing myself in my retirement.
