Sponsored by the John Templeton Foundation and The Atlantic Philanthropies, The Purpose Prize® is run by Encore.org, a nonprofit organization working to promote encore careers – second acts for the greater good. Encore.org, formerly Civic Ventures, works to engage millions of boomers in encore careers that improve the lives of others. The Prize awards $100,000 to at least one individual over the age of 60 who is making extraordinary contributions in his or her encore career.
In 2013 and 2014, Symetra sponsored The Purpose Prize® for Future Promise, a $100,000 prize which recognizes an individual whose approach for helping society has the potential to grow steadily over the next five years.
We are pleased to have two additional sponsors in 2014: The MetLife Foundation is the sponsor of the Purpose Prize for Financial Inclusion and The Eisner Foundation is the sponsor of the Purpose Prize for Intergenerational Impact.
