From fighting U.S. foreclosures to taking on powerful polluters to rebuilding Afghanistan, this year’s Purpose Prize winners are working on community-based issues from the ground up -- and getting results.

The Purpose Prize awards up to $100,000 each year to adults over 60 making extraordinary contributions in their encore careers. This year, multiple winners will be honored for their grassroots approach to empowering and strengthening communities – locally and globally.
Since its inception in 2006, 50 adults have won The Prize and more than 200 have been named Prize Fellows. View past winners and fellows by year, issue area and video.
