Request a "Dance" at the Encore Careers Summit
The Encore Careers Summit is a chance to network with others who share your interest in encore careers.
Use the Summit Dancecard to send a private request to anyone else attending the event. When they accept your request, you will be notified and can contact the person to find a time to talk, during one of the meals or breaks – breakfasts as a particularly good time, as is Sunday dinner on your own. You can also make arrangements to talk by phone or email before or after the Summit.
We’ve provided a few ways to find someone to “request a dance.”
- Use the google map on the home page of the Encore Careers Summit community. Zoom in on a region using the slider and click on a marker.
- Click on the interest areas listing in the right sidebar of the community home page to get a list of issue areas that attendees have indicated are important to them. Click on the issue that you are interested in to get a list of all attendees who share that interest. Then click on any profile to learn more about the person. (If you haven’t added your own issue areas, you can do it by going to your profile and checking off the boxes in the issues section of the profile.)
- Click on the list of states represented at the Summit (also in the right sidebar). Then pick the state of interest and take a look at the people attending. Click on the profiles of interest.
- Use the members tab in the center of the homepage to get a complete roster of attendees (at least those who have registered on encore.org and been added to the community). The list is in alphabetical order so if you wonder if someone you know is coming, you can click on the appropriate letter of the alphabet to get all people with that last name initial.
Please let us know how you like the dance card feature or if you have other ideas about how we can promote networking among Summit attendees.
