My Encore Story

Two years ago I took a severance package from the company where I had worked for 25 years.  After reviewing my finances, I realized that I had enough money to support myself.  During the first year, I decided to not work and spend time on remodeling my home.  During the second year, I tried many different gigs.  My criteria was that I have fun with whatever I did.  I did various product promotions, taught Science and Theatre Arts in elementary after-school programs, dealt blackjack at casino parties, and acted.  I then realized that I wanted to focus on acting as my first priority.  In high school, I wanted to be an actresss, but didn’t have the self-confidence to pursue that path.  So, I entered the work force and pursued a B.S. in Computer Science through night school.  I now take acting lessons, audition, and have done several film, TV and video projects.  I serve on the Board of Directors of a community theatre, assisting with publicity and obtaining grants.  I also serve as a Child Advocate.  My budget allows for an international vacation and winter vacation each year.  I am grateful that I took the severance package two years ago to begin my awesome encore career.
