My Encore Story

I am in the exploratory phases of my encore.  I have successfully met my financial goals and now  recognize the opportunity to more actively indentify and pursue my passions.  In my current role I work with a number of young people around the world entering the work force and admire the way the approach work and life.  I decided to take the next year to explore in depth my interests in the environment, sustainability and human services.  I lead a global team of a diverse team in 20 countries and have responsiblity for our internet and extranet supporting hundreds of thousands of virtual business relationships.

My target is to find a start up for profit venture that has a mission to provide a service that promotes a sustainability.  This could be in "green" services or technology or it can be in the way a business provides a service in a way that contributes to a healthy environment or it can be in the area of human services that bring them into a broader community.

I would like to couple the environmental subject with the for profit small company that uses the internet to enable its business.

My experiences have been in the consulting world speacializing in health care in the US. In recent years I developed an expertise in the use of internet technology in supporting marketing, communications, and collaboration for a large global professional services firm.

The intersection of my earlier career in health care coupled with my interent development experience have helped me recognize the impacts of globalization and the huge potential that exists by bring people together for common good.

My other interests are in American History and historic site preservation.  How we learn from the past and apply it to the future is something that I would like to build into my Encore as well.

I am married to a wonderful woman who works in the special education field and we have two adult daughters in college. We live in Virginia and our life journey began in New York.
