I’m 61 and have been leading a volunteer-based tutor/mentor program serving inner city Chicago children and youth for the past 34 years. I held a corporate advertising job for 17 of those years, and first got involved with this work as a volunteer. In 1990 I left the company and re-orgainzed my volunteer work as a non profit, and have been leading this organization since then.

I’m not sure if this qualifies as an Encore, but it certainly shows how older citizens can use their time, talent and resources to help make this a better world.
