Dear BreakThrough Employers members,

Welcome! For the inaugural post, I wanted to let you all know about AARP's Best Employers for Workers Over 50 program. The 2008 winners can be found here and you can find out about the 2009 competition and the overall program here. The only major catch is that only employers based in the United States with at least 50 employees may apply. If you are interested and want to know more about the competition, there is a webinar next Tuesday, January 13 from 11:00 am to noon EST. If you are interested in applying, you must RSVP to webinar@aarp.org with your name, organization, and location. You'll then receive a confirmation with information about how to access the webinar.

If you haven't yet seen it, Encore.org has launched an employer resource page, specifically geared towards nonprofit, governmental, educational, and environmental employers. You'll see a few facelifts to the site as time goes by so that we can ensure you are getting the best information in the best format.

Otherwise, if you ever have any information that would be helpful to employers interested in tapping the encore talent pool, please don't hesitate to post it in this group- that is what we're here for!
